The goal of painACTION is to help people improve their self-management of their pain condition. Written with the help of health educators, pain experts, and people dealing with pain, this site is a resource to come back to repeatedly, to track the occurrence of pain as well as to learn more.
This site does not carry advertisements. The site does not host or receive funding from advertising or from commercial content. This site does not allow users to directly post content. All content is reviewed before posting to assure that it meets the editorial standards and does not contain advertising.

Principal Investigators
Emil Chiauzzi, Ph.D., Vice President of Product Strategy
Dr. Chiauzzi is a clinical psychologist who has specialized in interactive online health programs for substance abuse, college health, and chronic pain. Dr. Chiauzzi has been the Principal Investigator on many National Institutes of Health grants and currently leads the grants supporting the back pain and cancer modules for painACTION.
Jonas Bromberg, Psy.D., Senior Research Scientist
Dr. Bromberg is a clinical psychologist with extensive experience treating people who are coping with chronic illness. At Inflexxion, he has developed self-management programs focused on adjustment to cancer, understanding the risk of genetic disease, and managing chronic pain.
Lynette Menefee Pujol, Ph.D.
Dr. Pujol is a licensed psychologist and Assistant Professor at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. She specializes in behavioral medicine at the Jefferson Pain Center. She is the co-Principal Investigator on the grant that supports the back pain module for painACTION.
Medical Direction
Kevin Zacharoff, M.D., Director of Medical Affairs
Dr. Zacharoff is a licensed, Board Certified, anesthesiologist with more than 25 years of clinical experience in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He is an Emeritus Member of the Medical Staff of St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in New York, and currently holds a Faculty Appointment as a Clinical Instructor at the State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School.
